OUR MISSION

The Armed Forces Dungeon League provides military personnel around the world with a fun, competitive, family-friendly way to interact, and celebrates the commonalities of service members and their families regardless of branch or nationality.

In a landscape where First Person Shooters (FPS) are overrepresented by event organisers in the military community, the AFDL chooses to focus on other, more family-friendly games.  Some of the most popular games in the world are those with an element of fantasy and fun, set in diverse worlds where characters come together to overcome obstacles, already have large player bases in the armed forces community.

Following the incredible success of our World of Warcraft CLASH pilot events in 2022, our inaugural Mythic + Season (2023) saw immense support and interest from the international military community. We've conclusively proved that military organizations are willing to support and mobilize around non-shooter titles.

All funds raised by the AFDL are split between our charity incentives and the operation of the league -- heavily weighted towards the former. Many military organisations place restrictions on what their service members can receive and in what quantities while on the active duty roster; with some prohibiting the receipt of any cash prize or other product at all. Our simplest and most well-recieved solution was also the most natural one: focusing our efforts on supporting their futures as retirees and veterans. By supporting veteran causes, veteran-owned businesses, and third-party organisations that benefit military families, we provide another way for these brave individuals to protect and serve their wider communities.

PLAYER TESTIMONIALS

“I have been playing WoW for almost 20 years now and it has been one of the most impactful things in my life. My dad and I came to bond growing up raiding from Vanilla to MoP, and even my groomsmen at my wedding were people I met through the game. Competing with AFG and in the AFDL has allowed me not only to combine two major factors of my life (the military and gaming) but also have the opportunity to compete alongside as well as against other service members. It has been an amazing experience, and I have met some incredible people.”
